Standing in the gap.

A moment from my first church that has lasted 23 years...

I was blessed in many ways at the first church I served, the good, the bad, and the in-between. This is one of those good stories about a friendship that has lasted for 23 years and counting.

Her name is Brenda and she is a prayer warrior. She is the definition of an intercessor, someone who stands in the gap for you and prays.

Intercession - the act of interceding, prayer, petition, or entreaty in favor of another.¹

There have been so many times over the years that I have needed prayer and wouldn’t you know it, she would text me and say “How can I pray for you today, I feel like you need prayer, or I’m covering you in prayer today.” I believe it’s The Holy Spirit prompting her to pray for me. She has always been there.

I’m thankful for men and women who faithfully pray for others, who do battle in the trenches.

She has always been a faithful prayer warrior and I’m thankful for her and her ministry to my family and me.

So I wanted to honor her today and encourage you because you have someone out there praying for you, someone who is doing battle in the trenches on your behalf.
