Preach the Constitution!
Just as mush as the Bible...
I had planned on taking a digital break and then this happened:
You do not have to be in the pastorate to be a false teacher - you just need to say something absurd like this:
All I know is that they can’t preach that without that thing called the United States Constitution… and that’s what we need to remind ourselves.
That is a direct quote taken from the video. I’m sure it is still up. Go watch it. He also says that the Constitution needs to talked about from the pulpit as much as the Bible. Gee… let me think on that for a second… NO. I guess Michael Flynn believes that our founding documents are inspired by God much like Bitter Betty believes that The Baptist Hymnal is. I mean after all, you can sing “I Surrender All” - which is what we are currently doing with inflation - and “The Battle Hymn of The Republic” out of the same book!
Glenn Beck believes that our founding documents are inspired:
It is God’s finger that wrote the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.1
Which of course, Mr. Beck for all his great conservative principles, is a Mormon. Mormons are not Christians. Different Jesus, Different Gospel, Different Scripture. But I guess that does not matter anymore in our great big bowl of religious pluralistic soup. No Diggity? No Doubt… No discernment.
The Bible, God’s holy Word belongs in the pulpit. Period. If you’re preaching and teaching anything else then you are a false prophet with the intent to deceive. I love our country and I love the rights that out Constitution gives us but that document is not inspired by God to be used for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.2
For all the Christians who read this and have their Bill of Rights in bunches you need to understand that we don’t need the Constitution to preach The Word. You get that right? All you need to do is open your mouth and proclaim the good news of Jesus. Plenty of Christians through the ages have done it and will continue to do it whether there is a Constitution or not.
Who are you worshiping on a Sunday morning when you read the Constitution from the pulpit? It is a god of your own making, a god who cannot save. If you cannot see that or do not understand that then you need to repent and believe the gospel… and that’s what we need to remind ourselves.3
