Because it always ends up something like this:1
This happened to me last Sunday before Sunday school and it was very irritating. The person who approached me had an entire week to call or come by to talk about an issue. It put me in a mood and since I’m already dealing with psoriatic arthritis and two bad hips I just wasn’t able to overcome it.2
If you’re a church member please don’t do this to your pastor. Sunday mornings right before church is not the time and neither is after church. If you feel the need to “get your shots in” then do it Monday through Friday.
I felt very disrespected. Some days I have zero desire to pastor anymore and it is largely due to instances like this.
Does anyone have the desire just to come and worship The Lord anymore? or is it primarily just about you and your personal preferrence?
Have a blessed Saturday evening,
Scott
And it ALWAYS happens on Sunday mornings either before Sunday school or the worship service.
I know, I know, all you super duper righteous believers out there reading this have me drawn and quartered already…
So true. As a Pastor, I attest
May I suggest a book - “When the Church Leaves the Building” by David Fredrickson, written by a pastor of 30 years. The Lord completely changed the course of his life and that of the people who he was leading at the time.
I think you’ll be surprised (and relieved) to hear what happened.
I prayed for you, going through your diagnosis of needing 2 hip replacements. That the Lord would use this time of enforced rest to show you new things and revive your relationship with Him. To remove any obstacles between Him and you, and to heal your heart and mind as you follow the Lord in the way He is leading to heal your body. May the Lord even give you prophetic dreams during this time. Amen!🥰💗
