Here's what we all want. We want to get our sins paid for at enough of a discount that we can imagine we paid for them but some people still can't afford it. Grace is all or nothing. This is a very fine piece that you wrote Scott. I like it a lot.
On the matter of the 'Sunday Best', I've always heard something like, 'If you were going to visit a king in his palace wouldn't you wear your very best?' Well, I have an answer to that. If you go to Buckingham Palace, the servants are in perfect impeccable uniforms. The court people there for business and favors are perfect. The King himself wears clothing suitable to the dignity of his office. But the little princes and princesses are running around in their diapers just like it is a trailer park. That's me. To anyone who doesn't like it: Take it up with Dad.
They don't "really " grasp the concept of grace. I believe their statements reveal, as much if more so, their feelings about themselves than others.
They haven't let the Holy Spirit "have His way" in their life. Until they know how forgiven they are - they can't extend it. They're very unhappy people inside.
Oh so many thoughts and so few words … think I’ll leave it here: We’ll played Pastor Scott, well played. ( I believe I just saw a twinkle in the eye of God) 👀🕊️

We have a Bitter Betty flanked by two Cheerful Chloes. I didn’t realize how common the phenomenon was. Also love the BC designation, apropos.
